PAKS is our response to the many parents who have asked if they can enroll their 4-year-old in our U6 Recreation program. While we believe it is too early for these kids to be placed on teams and play competitively, we understand that there are many younger players who can't wait to get out and play soccer.
"Parents and Kids in Soccer" (PAKS) bridges the gap between wanting to play but being too young to play on a team. Instead, the player and at least one of his or her parents play fun activities and games together in a group environment, developing balance, coordination, kinetic awareness, and a love for the game. There are no practices, no scheduled games and no leagues in PAKS.
The fall and spring PAKS programs run parallel to our Recreation program. The one-hour sessions are all on Saturdays at the same game sites as the Recreation program, and parents may choose which session they attend on a drop-in basis. Players will need to bring their own ball and both players and parents should come prepared to play.
The winter PAKS program is an indoor program aimed at pre-kindergarten kids who need a chance to run around while the weather is less than ideal. Parents and kids still play together, learning to move the ball and their own bodies in preparation for team soccer down the road. The one-hour sessions on are weekdays during the day.
The registration fee for all sessions includes a T-shirt "uniform" and a soccer ball.
