It was strong showing for the youngest age groups for Idaho Rush at the Canyon Rim Classic, especially at the girls U11 age group, where all four teams reached the semifinals. The U11 girls won two titles, while the U12 girls and U11 boys each chipped in a win of their own. Idaho Rush won all of the U11 championships available and half of the U12 titles up for grabs.

Girls U11 Idaho Rush-Black U11 Girls American Division  CHAMPIONS
The girls rolled through their two pool games, beating PVSC-Thunder in their tourmanet opener and Sawtooth-White 4-0 in Saturday's afternoon game. Meanwhile, Rush-Grey rallied from an opening loss to beat Jackson Hole United 2-0 to set up an all-Rush semifinal in the American Division on Sunday morning. The Black team cruised to a 7-1 win to reach the final, where they faced league rival Nova-Grey. Nova won their previous league match 1-0 just three weeks earlier and fininshed the season on top of the spring table, but the final belonged to Rush-Black, who earned a 2-0 win.

Girls U11 Idaho Rush-Blue  U11 Girls National Division  CHAMPIONS
Blue started on the right foot with a 3-1 win over Nampa Select Strikers Saturday morning before running roughshod over Nova-Black 11-0 in the afternoon game. Sunday morning's semifinal was the second all-Rush affair of the day as the Rush-White team earned their way into the semifinal with a split of their first two matches. But Blue was too much to handle for White as they earned a spot in the final with a 4-2 win. Unbeaten and untied Nova-Pink waited for them in the title match, but a strong defensive effort kept Nova scoreless and earned Rush-Blue a 2-0 win.

Girls U12-Grey  U12 Girls Division  CHAMPIONS
Rush-Grey was a goal-scoring fury all weekend opening the tournament with a 4-3 win over Soccer Xpress Saturday morning. The girls gave the nets a rest in the afternoon game, drawing with Elko Indar of Nevada 1-1. But the goals came roaring back on Sunday as the girls beat Mountain Home Mayhem 6-0 in their final pool game to win a spot in the final. Twin Falls Rapids was a tougher opponent in the championship game, though, as Grey edged out a 2-1 victory.

Boys U11-Black U11 Boys Division CHAMPIONS
The boys parlayed a weekend of stifling defense into a tournament championship, allowing not a single goal in four games. An unusual bracketing system meant every tournament point would be important during Saturday's preliminary stage and the boys responded well, increasing a 1-0 halftime lead to 2-0 midway through the second half of the opening game against PVSC-Fire. Zach Chatterton scored a key goal just before the whistle blew to give Rush full points from the match. Combined with an easy 8-0 win Saturday afternoon over PVSC-Flame, the boys claimed the top seed by a single point for Sunday's semifinals, where they faced the same PVSC-Fire team from Saturday morning. Similar to the opening match, Rush built a 2-0 lead and allowed a single shot on goal to earn a spot in the finals against league rival Nationals-Blue. Rush pushed a one-goal halftime lead to 2-0 midway through the second half, then held on during a nervy final 10 minutes to claim the hardware.
