"In addition to players who've played at the senior level previously, I have brought in younger players who have experience competing at the youth level for Guam," said Guam head coach Ross Awa. "We have a strong selection, and I truly believe the potential for this team is incredibly high."

Guam will be competing alongside Myanmar, United Arab Emirates, and Lebanon in the Group D qualifying round, hosted in the Kyrgyz Republic. It's a historic opportunity for the team, which last participated in the AFC Women's Asian Cup in 2003.

The squad will open its upcoming slate on October 18 against United Arab Emirates, before battling Myanmar on October 21 and Lebanon on October 24. All matches will kick off at 5 p.m. local time (4 a.m. PT).

The winner of the four-team group will advance to the 2022 AFC Women's Cup, which includes the best national teams from across Asia, including previous champions Japan, China PR, Thailand, and Australia.
