This past weekend 7 girls teams and 14 boys teams compete in the Directors Cup this weekend, there was a lot of excitement from the teams as tournament play has not been on the cards for some time. We had great weather and good facilities in Nampa and Caldwell.
The teams competed hard and represented Idaho Rush well. The 2008 Premier team were champions defeating Timbers North 3-0 in the championship. The 2010 Blue got to the championship game having made huge improvements from their results in the league. 2007 Nero achieved third place, notably beating the champions Timbers North 2-1 in a very competitive game that saw some amazing saves from Ella Engle!
On the boys side the 2009 Black won the tournament in a dominant fashion. The 2008 Premier pulled off almost the impossible, after a fantastic win over Inferno in the semis, they beat a mighty CGA opponent in the final. The 2008 and 2007 Nero team played very well during the whole tournament won very deserved championships. The 2006 Premier teams conceded only one goal during the tournament on a handball PK while scoring 18 goals and won the final in a very convincing fashion. The 2010 Blue, 2009 Blue and the 2007 Premier teams played great soccer, scored lots of goals and deservingly got tournament runner ups.
It was a great weekend of soccer with lots of learning taking place for all.
